Alice Ahn's Own Evaluation

Although I am happy that I have overcome the speech, after reading the comments, I really wanted to do my speech again because the improvements that were to be made were not that difficult. Eye contacts, and lowering my tone would have made my speech better and those were the things that I was able to do without much problem. If I was less nervous than I was at the speech, then I would have made a better job managing my tone because it did sound aggressive and forceful. I guess I was trying to show to the audience that I was not intimidated and that ended up making my tone more aggressive. The evaluation my peers gave me really helped me for sure because I found out my weaknesses and strengths but also how the audience understood my speech. Each person's evaluation differed from each other but they were similar in particular questions such as number eight.

The strengths of my speech were things that I really worked hard on. They were gestures and clarity of the speech. I wanted the audience to understand my speech with specific information so that they would not be confused during the speech and that did work out. For the gestures, I was a little bit worried if I had used too much, gestures working as a distraction for the audience but it did not. In conclusion, I enjoyed writing the speech because parental issue, not only in macbook, is serious in the world, especially Korea because parents restrict their children up to an extreme point. I feel like I made a statement about the issue to the public, although it was only to my classmates, and feel great about it. It was a great project to do it and at the end of my speech I respect Patrick Henry more than I did for doing the persuasive speech in a successful way because persuading someone is one of the difficult tasks to do in the world.
